Europe, several countries in the European Union, are still very attractive for refugees and migrants from several other continents. Especially the so called refugee-crisis in 2015 divided the EU-countries in the question, how to deal with the migration. A solution, a common European approach seems still out of reach. At the same time Europe has been a hostage of different neighboring countries that use the migrations as a tool of political pressure (e. g. Turkey, Russia, Belarus). Therefore, Europe should put much more effort in tackling its foreign policy and find appropriate policies towards its neighborhood in order to better manage migrations. When global powers wish to weaken Europe, they use the European biggest weak point – political disunity. Are European politicians able to address the migrations with one voice?

The European Union has never been more disunited as it is today. Member states cannot find a way to recalibrate the compass and try to find projects that help uniting European nations – on contrary, ever more emphasizing differences lead towards ever more vulnerable Europe within and from outside its borders. Political disunity as we see today is a serious threat to peace, security and stability in Europe. Are European politicians able to surpass the political differences? Is it possible to find a consensus on major European projects? Are politicians aware of the real threats to Europe?
